Enkhuizen has a wide range of ferry services. From April through October, several ferries depart daily to take you to Stavoren, Urk and Medemblik. You can also take your bicycle on the boat. This way you can alternate cycling with a beautiful boat trip on the IJsselmeer.

Historic Boating Map
For centuries, West Frisian farmers and market gardeners sailed every day with their barges through the ditches to their scattered fields. Although much has changed in the West Frisian landscape since the land consolidation, elements can still be found that are characteristic of the development of the area.

Active on the water
Enkhuizen offers various possibilities for sporting activities on the water. Think of traditional water sports such as water skiing, canoeing and surfing but also, for example, wakeboarding, banana sailing and Fun Tubing. You can also rent a speedboat.

The extensive sailing route network in Westfriesland makes it very attractive to discover Enkhuizen and its surroundings from the water. The sailing route network is signposted using a junction system. At several places in the region you can rent a whisper boat.
Sailing on the IJsselmeer
In Enkhuizen there are many opportunities for sailing. You can sail yourself but you can also take a beautiful sailing trip on the IJsselmeer. Almost all the ships can be booked not only privately, but also for company outings or meetings, for example.
