Drommedaris
The Drommedaris was built as a city gate in the defensive walls that once surrounded Enkhuizen. It also served as a watchtower, guarding the city’s harbors and offering a view over the former Zuiderzee. Today, the Drommedaris houses Cultural Center De Drom and Cinema Enkhuizen.

De Koepoort
The Koepoort is a city gate in Enkhuizen. For centuries, it served as the western entrance to the city and was an integral part of its fortifications. The slight curve in the gate’s passage was intentionally designed to prevent enemies from firing straight through it. On the city side of the gate, you’ll find a statue of the city’s maiden, symbolizing Enkhuizen.

The Town Hall
The Town Hall is a testament to the grandeur and prosperity of Enkhuizen during the Golden Age. Its architect, Steven Vennekool, was a pupil of Jacob van Campen. The interior remains largely authentic, featuring rich decorative paintings. The offices are still in use today, and the historic Schepenenkamer is a popular wedding venue.

Westerkerk
The Wester- or St. Gomarus Church is considered one of the 100 most beautiful national monuments in the Netherlands and is located in the historic heart of Enkhuizen. Construction began around 1470 and took nearly fifty years to complete.

Snouck van Loosenpark

Guided Tour of the Drommedaris
A journey through the tower: the story begins in 1540 with a smaller and very different gate. We climb up the old stairs as the Drommedaris grows and the years pass. Enjoy a view of the historic orange rooftops of Enkhuizen, then descend via the new staircase and the theater that the Drom is today. Reservations can be made via info@drom.nl.
