Nature trail Ecoproject Streekbos
The Ecoproject is a part of the Streekbos where the development of nature is paramount. It consists of a pond, a toad pool and a ditch. Due to ecological management there is a great biodiversity; more plant species, butterflies, dragonflies, birds, hedgehogs and mice. You can walk the walking route in all seasons. In wet periods it is advisable to wear boots or sturdy walking shoes.
In 1996, the Ecoproject was redesigned to promote nature development. Most banks are sloping instead of steep and there are more differences in height. This allows more different plant species to spontaneously establish, maintain and spread. Due to the increase in plant species, more species of butterflies, dragonflies, birds and small mammals such as hedgehogs and mice appear. The greater biodiversity makes the Ecoproject a kind of nursery in the nature network of the region.
