Hemony carillon

The wealth in the Golden Age enabled the Municipality of Enkhuizen to purchase a precious Hemony carillon twice. In 1648 the Zuider- or Sint Pancrastoren got a Hemony carillon. The Drommedaris was raised in 1648 and made suitable for the placement of the second Hemony carillon in 1677. Fran├žois and Pieter Hemony were famous bell founders. They were the first to be able to compose a melodious clock series. Amsterdam, Utrecht and Enkhuizen are the only cities in the world where one can find several of these historically valuable chimes.
