Zuiderzeeroute
During this tour around the former Zuiderzee – now the IJsselmeer – you will experience the rich history of what is also called the ‘Golden Circle’. The activity in the various fishing villages, the peace and space in the Wieden and Weerribben, the vast forests on the Veluwe, but also the vastness of the Flevoland polder landscape.
The Zuiderzee Route consists of three Long-Distance Cycle Routes: LF21 (Amsterdam-Afsluitdijk), LF22 (Afsluitdijk-Kampen) and LF23 (Kampen-Amsterdam).
You follow the corresponding rectangular signs with green lettering, which are placed in two directions. The total length is about 400 kilometers. But you can shorten the route in different ways, for example by choosing the variant through the Flevopolder or by taking the ferry between Enkhuizen and Stavoren or Urk.
