Bulb Camper route

Four flower bulb and tuber growers are launching a new route for campers in the Holland Boven Amsterdam region. This has created a unique collaboration that offers campers from all over the world the opportunity to spend a midweek or week with bulb and tuber growers. Campers have never been closer to the flower bulb fields.

Camping among the tulips

The route starts at Camping de Gouwe Stek (Bovenkarspel). Karin and Michiel welcome you to the campsite in a beautiful green environment. Here the peonies bloom in May/June.

After this, the route heads towards Camperplaats de Tulpentuin (Slootdorp) at the tulip nursery of Siem and Sandra Munster. Sandra likes to show guests around the nursery and when the fields are in bloom, she is happy for you to take a walk right past the blooming tulips.

Continue the route to Camping Duinzoomhoeve (Julianadorp), a farm campsite at the flower bulb company of the Romar family. Mary and daughter Suzan do everything to please their guests. In 2022 voted ANWB Campsite of the Year.

The next stop is Camperplaats Molen de Hoop (‘t Zand), in the middle of the flower bulb area of North Holland North. This is a beautiful starting point for a cycling route. Then definitely take the Stolpenroute!

The route ends at Camping Boven het Maaiveld (Hoogwoud), in the middle of the West-Friesland countryside, with many tulip fields in the area. Enjoy the natural surroundings at Kees and Janneke, or as they say themselves: camping for birds of paradise!

Opening hours and facilities

The camper sites in the flower bulb route are all open from mid-April to 1 November. At De Gouwe Stek and De Tulpentuin campers are welcome all year round.

All camper sites offer good facilities, such as water, electricity, shower, toilet, WiFi, and a waste point for toilet and dirty water. The growers welcome the guests of the flower bulb route to their company and tell everything about their product: the flower bulbs and tubers.

When staying with the bulb growers, guests discover that every season is different. In spring, the bulb fields bloom, in summer it is harvest time with the bulb peeling in the barns, and in autumn the bulbs are planted in the field. The bulb growers live with the seasons and are happy to take their guests with them.
