In wonder at the church year

‘In wonder through the church year’ is the title of the new exhibition that can be seen in the Zuiderkerk in Enkhuizen until April 13, 2025. The exhibition consists of seven works by painter Jan Kooistra (1950-2021).

They depict the most important holidays of the church year, such as the birth of Jesus (Christmas), the crucifixion (Good Friday) and the coming of the Holy Spirit (Pentecost). They are large paintings (150 x 150 cm) that show these events in a compelling way. Six works are exhibited. The seventh (the Second Coming) will be given a place later. Kooistra has written a book in which the works are depicted and provided with explanatory texts. The book is for sale during the exhibition.

The Zuiderkerk is open to the public on Saturday afternoons between 12:00 and 16:00.
