Sunday afternoon, December 15, performance by Bert Heerink and André Becker, aka Heroes of Rock at Club Jazz&Pop in Cultura Andijk.

Bert Heerink

Singer Bert Heerink became famous in the 80s as the singer of the rock band Vandenberg and scored the world hit ‘Burning Heart’. After that, Heerink has never been off the stage. A Dutch-language career followed, after the foreign tours had ended, with a gold record (and last July 6 x platinum ed.) as a reward for the Top 10 hit ‘Juli July’. Heerink then shone for years as the frontman of Kayak, with whom he made four albums. He also became well-known as the interpreter of the classic numbers from the Disney hit “Tarzan” (for which he collaborated with Phil Collins). Bert also worked with major orchestras such as the Royal Air Force Orchestra and the North Netherlands Orchestra in various theater productions. Recently, Heerink was a singer with Jan Akkerman’s My Brainbox and Pink Floyd Project, among others. He is currently touring with Heroes of Rock and Classic Country; both acoustic projects and is working on the second album of Bert’s AOR band, Royal Flush.

André Becker

In the latter band he meets André Becker, guitarist and ‘spiritual father’ of Pink Floyd Project. This band rose to great heights in a short time and has been seen as one of the best Pink Floyd tribute bands in Europe for several years. Successful tours follow at home and abroad. Becker scored a hit in 2012 with the Austrian singer Falco Luneau and played with Waylon and Van Dik Hout, among others.
