On December 22, Chiaroscuro by opera singer Igor Popov in the intimate setting of De Drom.
Opera singer Igor Popov is set to bring an extraordinary tribute to life on December 22nd with his enchanting concert CHIAROSCURO in the intimate setting of De Drom. The concert takes its name from the Italian words for light and darkness, and promises to be a unique musical experience.
The highlight of the evening is Popov’s mastery of the special vocal technique CHIAROSCURO, which combines light and dark colours in the voice. This technique lends itself perfectly to performing lyrical and dramatic musical compositions. Popov will be accompanied by the talented pianist Pablo García Valles, a laureate of international competitions, who will provide the musical accompaniment.
The concert program is divided into three enchanting parts, each highlighting a different musical tradition. From the deep earnestness of German composers such as Beethoven, Schubert, and Schumann, to the exuberant expressiveness of Italian Baroque, and the rich lyricism of Slavic, particularly Russian and Ukrainian, folk music. Popov promises a musical journey that takes listeners through the unique qualities of each culture, while celebrating the universal language of music that connects us all.
In addition to the impressive collaboration between Popov and Valles, the pianist will also perform some beautiful solo pieces. As the icing on the cake, a surprise is planned at the end of the concert.
