Fun things to do in and around Enkhuizen
In the May vacation there is plenty to do in Enkhuizen and the surrounding area! Do you like to be active in nature? Then come climb in climbing park Streekbos or walk barefoot along the Blotevoetenpad.
There are also all kinds of fun events, such as a Food Festival, King’s Day and the Liberation Market.

Nice outside
Klimpark Streekbos: for young and old, beginners and advanced climbers, the climbing park offers a fun, adventurous and exciting day out! Please book in advance.
Barefoot path Gouwe Voeten: walking barefoot over tree trunks, a wobble bridge and through water.
Fun with kids
Playground Kindervreugde: come play in the nostalgic playground with some 40 classic and modern playground equipment.
Deer Camp Enkhuizen: the tea garden overlooking the deer meadow, the petting zoo and the nature garden are free to visit.
Cruising through the polders
Rowboat rental: sail yourself and enjoy the natural beauty and tranquility of the polder.
Round trip Enkhuizen: A three-quarter-hour cruise past centuries-old teahouses, farms, country houses, workshops and the ramparts with their monumental defense gates.
Cycling through Enkhuizen and Westfriesland
As you cycle through Westfriesland you see characteristic cheese-cover farmhouses, blooming tulip fields and views of the IJsselmeer as far as the horizon reaches. Enkhuizen and Westfriesland are wonderful to discover by bicycle.

Many beautiful monumental buildings and defenses have been preserved in Enkhuizen. A city walk is a fun way to discover Enkhuizen.

Tulip Express Experience
Experience this classic in the spring of 2023! From mid-April through early May, steam streetcars will once again travel through colorful bulb fields. On Saturday and Sunday afternoons April 22, 29 and 30, an additional Tulip Tram will run in the afternoon.
King's Day in Enkhuizen
During Koningsdag in Enkhuizen you don't have to be bored. There is plenty to do and experience, for young and old. So put on your orange clothes and come to Enkhuizen to celebrate the King's birthday!
Food Festival Venhuizen
West Friesland's largest outdoor restaurant is back in Venhuizen for the fifth time! With 15-20 foodtrucks, children's activities and bands we are going to make it a great party again. And there is free entrance!
In May, all birds lay an egg
Do you think you too can make a bird's nest? You can take up the challenge during the creative craft afternoon of the IVN in the Streekbos. With natural materials you get to work quickly. Guidance is available for explanation and help.
Children's Festival Westfriesland
Scattered around the Wilhelmina Park are various activities such as a circus school, face painting, pony rides, theater, crafts, nature games and workshops. The animals at the petting zoo are also looking forward to meeting you!
Liberation Market
A Liberation Market will be held on May 5 in the center of Enkhuizen. Come on time to score the very best bargains!
Between Art & Kidz
For three days, April 29, 30 and May 1, the museum is filled with all kinds of creative activities, performances and workshops, for young and old. And now extra festive because of the museum's 75th anniversary.
